The SPPL is under new ownership as of March 7th, 2010. Billy Smith of Low Country Paintball has acquired the league from founder Jayson Nielson. Regarding the acquisition, Jayson Neilson said, “The SPPL is the premier Woodsball League in the world.

When the PSP was forced to protect yellow due to the staining properties associated with other paint colors, one of the most recognized teams in paintball, XSV, was forced to make a wardrobe change for the coming season. Their trademark yellow/gold and black would no longer fly in the most popular paintball league in the USA. New Hampshire in February–a cold, tough time for paintball players. Fields are closed, C02 doesn’t work very well, and weekends are spent away from friends and competition for other adventures which incorporate snow and ice.
