    1. This is a very good barrel for the price. First time using this barrel, it was quieter and more accurate than the stock A-5 barrel. Also, the range increased slightly. This was definitely a great buy! Recommended for all that do not wish to spend $80 for a flatline barrel.

    2. *written by Son* bought this barrel 4 my a-5 and i’m highly impressed by its accuracy. i’ve used my friends smart parts 20″ barrel and its more accurate but its also hard to manuver around the field. some people say 16″ is to long but i like it and once u get used to it you realize its a good thing to hve cause i can out range most of the people i play with( except the kid with the 20″ barrel) overall its a low price highly accurate barrel, a must have for a budget player.

    3. It definitely increases accuracy. Since it has a fine bore, however, it can break larger paintballs. Theoretically, paintballs are .68 calibre, but in reality, nearly all paintballs expand, and some are significantly larger. I bought some thick-shelled winter paintballs, and I couldn’t fire a shot without some breakage. After getting some better paintballs, this barrel works great.

It’s supposedly self-cleaning, but that’s not 100% true… it’s more like 50% true. If a ball breaks in this barrel, another shot fired through it will usually shoot successfully and clean it somewhat, but the paint residue will remain, which will reduce your ball velocity by about 100fps. This happened to me — a ball broke in the barrel (probably because a few of the balls I bought were leaking slightly), and while I could shoot somewhat cleanly afterward, I couldn’t shoot above 250fps until I cleaned the barrel with my squeegee — after doing that, my velocity increased to about 350fps, and I turned it down to about 290. In conclusion, it’s technically possible to continue playing after breaking a ball, but your ball velocity will almost certainly decrease, and perhaps your accuracy as well. Don’t worry, though; it works fine with most paint.

Apart from this, I’m not sure if any additional length beyond 12 or 14″ is particularly helpful, and this barrel is noticeably long, though from my experience, that doesn’t interfere with anything. I’m considering buying a flatline, but I’m not sure since those are rather expensive, and they’re supposedly difficult to remove and clean. I definitely recommend this over the stock Tippmann A-5 barrel, especially since it’s not very expensive. I wish that I could compare it to something like the flatline or a Hammerhead, but I’ve never used one of those, unfortunately.

    5. I’ve been playing with a J&J barrel on my A5 for over a year now and I love it. It’s extremely durable and reliable. Great for players who are just starting out. One of the best barrels for the price.
