The most customizable paintball marker ever made–with 1,000 possible looks and a host of key performance features–the Tippmann X-7 is a must for serious paintballers. The X-7 is distinguished by its patented inline bolt system, which improves firing consistency and is more reliable than stacked bolt systems, along with its Cyclone EP (Enhanced Performance) feeder system, which feeds up to 20 balls per second (BPS). The magnesium alloy body, meanwhile, is 20 percent lighter than most other materials, making the X-7 far easier to wield in a tight situation. And thanks to the marker’s air-thru, stock-compatible system, there’s no need for a gas line underneath. The X-7′s highlight feature, however, is its versatility, with such features as a modular shroud with four rails for adding on sights and scopes; a Picatinny top rail that lets you easily add new risers, sights, or handles; and a push-pin design that makes it easy to field strip the marker and add accessories.

The external mode X7 also comes with an e-Grip trigger system that can shoot up to 20 BPS and be programmed to fire up to 30 BPS. The e-Grip’s five firing modes include semiautomatic (which meets the regulations of any organized field event), turbo, three-shot safety burst, auto response, and full safety auto. Paintballers will also dig the weatherproof system, which is great for woodsball play. Best of all, it’s a breeze to change e-Grip modes on the fly. Other details include a low-profile offset hopper that offers a clear sight line; an AR15-style magazine with built-in tool storage; an adjustable rear site that helps with long-range aiming; and such bundled extras as a maintenance pack, barrel sleeve, and gun oil container.

    1. Pretty much the best gun you can get for the price, however, you MUST get a flatline or straightline barrel or you will hate this gun. The stock barrel on pretty much all paintball guns suck. Just plan to buy a good barrel no matter what you buy. I like the e-grip because I use the auto response feature that fires a ball on the pull and release of the trigger. If you want it for mainly full auto, buy the basic X-7 and get a better aftermarket e-grip. If you plan on full auto, then the review for this would be 4 stars and 5 stars on the basic gun. There are plenty of other accessories you can get to customize this gun and make it better, but they are not truly necessary. The only thing you NEED is a better barrel.

    2. The X-7 itself has a huge number of existing mods for the fore grip and the stock. I have already moded mine with an XP-5 fore grip and a CAR stock. The front magazine is very cool as it holds two allen wrenches and leaves room for more storage, this is really handy in the field as the tools are only ever a few inches away. The e-grip’s added firing modes are particularly handy. Unlike the A-5, the X-7 has a lack on the side, one for safety, one for single fire, and one for special fire. This is a handy upgrade from the A-5, as if you go to a field that only allows single fire, you are only a flip away from standard fire. The battery on the X-7 is also located in the back of the handle, so its much easier to get out then the A-5. Although the handle feels odd with no battery in there, as the marker will not fire without it, its not too much of a problem.
