When I got into the car to drive six hours to visit family for the holidays on December 21, 2010, I had no idea what I’d be getting into when I checked my email when I arrived. I discovered, while I was in the car for six hours, that NXe and Tippmann had issued a press release announcing that Tippmann, one of the best-known and most respected names in paintball, had purchased the long-standing, widely-respected pack and soft goods manufacturer! After reading the press release and being floored by it, I was privileged to be able to spend some time with NXe’s John Bosch and his son Ryan to learn what led to the purchase, what motivated them to sell their paintball brand and where the people behind NXe will go from here.

For the last several months, Pinokio Hoppers has evolved from a one-product, one-man show run by Evan Estrate to a robust company offering several products, run by someone new. That’s right, the day-to-day operations of the one-man show known as Pinokio are now handled by a woman; Jennifer Chapman, whose background in paintball is more extensive than people realize.
